5 Benefits of Becoming a Morning Person
Rise and shine!
Waking up earlier is hard work. Especially when you work all day and adopted the worst possible sleeping schedule during quarantine and haven’t fully recovered. Studies have shown that an early bird doesn’t just catch the worm: there are many health benefits that come with being an early riser. To give you the motivation to become a morning person, here are five benefits of setting your alarm early:
1. You will be more productive
During quarantine I slept in as late as possible. Why? Because I could. I didn’t have to physically attend class, commute to work, or go anywhere, really. All I had to do was open up my laptop and complete my schoolwork. Getting a satisfying amount of sleep did help mitigate my under-eye bags; however, my days were now taken up by my studies. From lunch hours to the time before I went to bed I would be working, leaving me with little to no time for myself. So I stayed up late to fit in some much needed “me time”, and the horrific sleeping schedule began.
Although I was still able to successfully complete my school year, I was far from productive. I only had time for school, giving me very limited hours to do other things that were good for my health. So sleeping in late didn’t make me less productive, it only made me productive…
